I was born and raised in Southern Utah and I am so excited to be back in this beautiful area to raise my family. My husband and I have been married for fourteen years and have four beautiful children. I have been a licensed Master Esthetician for 21 years and worked in the Dermatology field for 11 of those years. I love that I can incorporate my knowledge of skin care and skin disease to help with my role as a Medical Technician here at Diamond Ranch Academy. When I am not working you will find me spending time with my family and raising my four crazy kids.

I am a Utah native born in Salt Lake City to a close-knit family where I learned the importance of honesty and hard work. When I was nine years old, we moved to St. George, Utah – which is now the place that I still call home. I believe that growing up in Southern Utah was one of the greatest blessings I have had in my life; I love it here. In high school I was very involved with my academics and I also participated in sports. After graduating high school, I served a 2-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. As a missionary I continued to increase my work ethic and knowledge, where I also learned to speak the Spanish language proficiently. I grew to love the humble people that I met and the amazing culture that I experienced while serving in Honduras. After returning home from Honduras, I have attended Brigham Young University and Dixie State University. I am married to a beautiful woman and we love living in St. George.

I was born and raised in Southern Utah. At a young age, my parents taught me the value of education and the importance of life-long learning; as a result, one of my greatest passions/interests is the pursuit of knowledge. In addition, I enjoy serving others. This drive was cultivated while serving a full-time mission for the LDS church in Virginia. On my mission, I developed deep, close relationships with people from various cultures and backgrounds, and I quickly realized the value of serving others. I am married to a beautiful, amazing woman, and we have two adorable children. My wife and I love spending time with our children, and we enjoy in engaging in a myriad of outdoor activities, such as camping, riding ATVs, fishing, visiting the beach, going to the zoo etc.…

I love working at Diamond Ranch Academy! Throughout my life, I have worked for a number of different private and public entities. From a business standpoint, DRA is second to none as it pertains to how they value and treat their staff. The work environment has played a positive influence within my life. In addition, I have quickly come to the realization that DRA truly cares for the well-being and future of each and every student who enters the program. The concepts and principles found within DRA’s core are strategies I want implement within my own family in order to raise competent, productive children. I am truly grateful to be apart of Diamond Ranch Academy.

I consider myself to be a native of Southern Utah. I grew up in a small town named Richfield. I completed my undergraduate degree (B.A.) at Brigham Young University then attended medical school at the F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland. I then completed my residency in family medicine at Dewitt Army Community Hospital in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. I served in the U.S. Army for over 19 years and have had wonderful learning experiences in Panama, Korea, Thailand, Philippines, Brazil and Portugal. In 2003, my family decided that it was time to move back to Southern Utah. The city of Hurricane welcomed us. For the last 11 years I have practiced Family Medicine in Hurricane, Utah. We love it here. I have special interests in pediatric and maternity care.
I have been the Medical Director of DRA for a little over 4 year. I have seen many students come and go from DRA and have been impressed at the level of maturity they gain as they participate in the guided experiences that are offered by the school staff and therapists. Students learn coping skills that enable them to deal with the difficulties of life. With these coping skills, many students are able to stop medications for depression, anxiety, or ADHD that they have been on for years. It’s such a contrast to see patients when they arrive at DRA and then again when they graduate. They arrive apprehensive, rebellious, and angry. They leave with confidence, hope and ambition.
My wife and I adopted a child who we later discovered has some pretty heavy emotional baggage. I know what it is like to send your child off to a program and not know if they are ever going to get well enough to come home or if they are going to be disadvantaged by missing out on regular school experiences. Diamond Ranch Academy provides a safe, healing environment where students can experience the joys and challenges of regular school. I would have no reservations about having my son at DRA. I’m proud to be a part of this program.
